Every year, on the occasion of the International Congress, AIOP establishes the Research Session dedicated to Professor Mario Martignoni since 2006.
The works accepted for the Research Session will be displayed in poster format at the International Congress held in November.

The Scientific Committee will proceed to the selection of the best candidates who will be awarded as follows:

  • 5th and 4th place:
    publication on the AIOP website of the abstract in pdf format; if the candidate is under 31 years of age, registration for AIOP 2020 will be free of charge to the Presenting author.
  • 3rd place:
    €400 prize; publication in the English edition of the International Journal of Prosthodontics; publication on the AIOP website of the abstract in pdf format; if the candidate is under 31 years of age, registration for AIOP 2020 will be free of charge to the Presenting author.
  • 2nd place:
    €600 prize; publication in the English edition of the International Journal of Prosthodontics; publication on the AIOP website of the abstract in pdf format; if the candidate is under 31 years of age, registration for AIOP 2020 will be free of charge to the Presenting author.
  • 1st place:
    €2,000 prize; publication in the English edition of the International Journal of Prosthodontics; publication on the AIOP website of the abstract in pdf format; if the candidate is under 31 years of age, registration for AIOP 2020 will be free of charge to the Presenting author.

The author presenting the poster accepted for the Research Session must join AIOP by registering as follows:
if NOT a member, registration with a reduced Ordinary Member fee* from € 450 to € 150 + payment of € 50 participation fee will be due;
if NOT a member under 31 years of age, registration with a reduced Ordinary Member fee* from € 450 to € 150 will be requested. To encourage the participation of young researchers, AIOP has decided to eliminate the poster contribution of € 50 for authors who are under 31 years of age at the time of the congress;
if Member (of any kind), the participant will pay a contribution of € 50.

(*the reduced Ordinary Member fee gives access to the Pre-convention Course and to the Congress)

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

The closing of the submission is scheduled for midnight on Thursday 26 September 2019 (deadline extended until October 3, 2019).
The Scientific Committee will communicate the outcome of the abstracts review by Thursday, October 24, 2019.
In the case where the poster is accepted with a request for revisions, the uploading of the final version must be completed by midnight on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
The official language for abstracts and posters is English.
The instructions for preparing and uploading abstracts are summarized below.

PREPARATION AND UPLOADING OF ABSTRACTS

The button below is linked to the online portal for uploading abstracts.
The author must enter on Individual Registration and complete the required registration fields.
To confirm the registration the author will receive an email with an ID code and a password, which can then be used to access the portal.
By clicking on Mario MARTIGNONI Competition Notice, the abstract submission form will be accessed.
For the compilation of the form, please refer to the compilation instructions that can be downloaded from the portal.

Relevant Reminders:

  • Do not use a font less than 10
  • Please read the abstract carefully before completing the upload.
  • Check that all names are correct.
  • Indicate the author who will present the work using the dedicated flag.
  • Do not insert images;
  • An indication that the results will be presented and/or discussed after the submission is not accepted.

Each author may upload only one abstract and submit only one poster to the Congress. His name, however, may appear as a co-author on other works.
The submission of an abstract implies the responsibility of the PRESENTING AUTHOR to produce its contents in first person. Requests for withdrawal of abstracts must be submitted in writing by the PRESENTING AUTHOR (requests from anyone else will not be accepted) to the Scientific Committee by October 30, 2019.

Withdrawals or changes will be accepted only until October 30.

However, if after this date, it is impossible for the author to submit the work, the PRESENTING AUTHOR must send a written notification with the request and name of a substitute chosen among the
co-authors of the same work. The substitute may not be someone already listed as a Presenting author for another work.
The abstract and poster must be original (not previously submitted or published).
All speakers must register and pay the required registration fee.

POSTER PREPARATION Martignoni

1. At the top of the poster, place the title and names of the authors. Letters for this section must be at least 2.5 cm (1″) high.
2. Since the poster will be displayed at a distance, the text font should be at least 1.3 cm (1/2″).
3. Charts and images should be markedly drawn, easy to understand, and illustrated with concise descriptions.
4. The poster should be self-explanatory so that the author only has to answer questions about specific aspects of the subject matter.
5. The viewer is facilitated in understanding the material if he indicates (with letters, numbers or arrows) a preferable sequence to follow.
